Judge By The Pledge!

National Pledge: Their Curse!

I pledge to Nigeria my country,
To be faithful, loyal and honest,
To serve Nigeria with all my strength,
To defend her unity,
And uphold her honor and glory,
So help me God.

I have concluded that many politicians and political office holders had long forget what our national pledge is and what is in it for them. I pledge is a solemn oath to show emphatic commitment to the cause one takes the pledge for. As a lawyer, pastor, alumni, Doctor etc. one is under a kind of force one has subjected himself/herself to. Every Nigerian from day one in school has been pledging him/herself to the nation while still praying for the leaders. But it’s unfortunate that many political office holders have long forgotten the pledge, to their detriment, they indirectly put themselves under the curse of the oath they have made with Nigeria… her citizen and resources.

They pledge faithfulness, yet they entangle and characterized their day to  day activities in power with all manner of dealings that cannot but come under corruption, either fraud, forgery, cheating, embezzlement, misappropriation, stealing etc. surely the cause will soon catch up with them… Yoruba will say, ‘he who did not keep agreement to be faithful will be wasted.’ Their end will justify their faithfulness.

They pledge loyalty, but they have re-scoped their area of loyalty to their class and family. They forgot that the pledge is not to any tribe or clan or class, but to the whole of Nigeria, therefore justice will not be on them, but on all their clan, class and tribe wherever there location!
They pledge honesty, but secrecy and bad accountability like that of Lawan-gate is the general emblem, nothing will therefore avert the impending doom on them. Waste like shit will they be.

Hmm, the next will make their way slippery and lead to their eventual fall. They pledge quality and dedicated service yet all their meetings is based on what’s in there for them and their clique or group they represent.
All breakaway team and advocators will not be left untouched as they will have their fair share of breakage in life and properties as they default their solemn vow to defend Nigeria’s UNITY.
Shame, many youth that fault the leaders will have their share in the judgments of the pledge; as they pledge to uphold Nigeria’s honour and glory, yet all action in internet fraud, terrorism, pipeline vandalization, examination malpractices, dishourable living in and outside Nigeria condemn all to fierce merciless judgment.

I pledge to Nigeria my country,
If I am not faithful, loyal and honest,
If I did not serve you (Nigeria) with all my strength,
If I chose not to defend your unity,
And also refuse to uphold your honour and glory,
So deal mercilessly with me and my generation till we are annihilated!
(AMEN.)
can you read it that way?
