The Unspoken Words Of An House Maid

The Unspoken Words Of A House Girl

:
I'm a house girl
Well, that's what they call me
My name is Ayo
But in my life, there is no joy
Although there is no joy
I have to smile and act like all is well.
:
My Oga forgets my name most times. When I hear him shout: "Omo yii da?" (Where is this child?) I know he's looking for me to do one work or the other.
:
Work work work is all I do.
I have no life... I am just a house help.
My madam cannot do without me.
The only thing I don't do is bathe her.
I have been loyal to her but she treats me like a rag. And if I dare look at her husband's face when I greet him She'll thinks I want to snatch him.
:
Madam's children are treated like Princesses
I am a slave for these children Although they are same age as me, they wear pretty clothes but I have no choice but to wait for those clothes to become rags before they will dash me to wear.
:
Gateman and driver think I am their automatic entitlement just because I am a house girl
Why do people think that house helps will sleep with driver or gateman?
Just because I am a house help does not mean I have no respect for my self! :
Life has not been kind to me Misfortune has followed me from the day I was born. If I had a choice in life, I would never choose the life that I have.
:
Everyone treats me less than a human and I have no right to complain. People call you different names. I am the only one that knows who I really am. :
House helps are seen as witches, thieves, husband-snatchers, Gateman's girlfriend, driver's girls, 'slaves' etc.
But God knows who I am.
I do my best to make the house function, yet no one respects me.
I don't get commendation only condemnation
I am the first to rise in the morning and the last to go to bed, still no one ever asks how I'm coping! :
Life is cruel I must say
I hate to wake another day
Before you treat me the way you do, remember I have feelings just like you
:
Please share this post if you are against the maltreatment of house-helps. Every day they are mistreated, beaten, raped & even killed. They may have no voice but we can speak up for them.

GLORY TO GOD... WE ARE ONE!

GLORY TO GOD... WE ARE ONE!

"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow, but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him, and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?"

Thanks to the Father, the Source & Sustainer, who has brought us thus far...
Rejoice with us as we Celebrate Our Marriage Anniversary!!!

Feelings Are Fickle, Love is A North Star...

Feelings Are Fickle, Love is A North Star...

When all the butterflies have fluttered away and your wedding day becomes a distant memory, you will discover that you’ve married someone who is just as imperfect as you. And they, in turn, will come to learn that you have problems, insecurities, struggles, quirks—and body odor—just as real as theirs!

Then you will realize that real love isn’t just an euphoric, spontaneous feeling—it’s a deliberate choice—a plan to love each other for better and worse, for richer and poorer, in sickness and in health. Of course, you don’t choose who you’re attracted to, but you definitely choose who you fall in love with and (more importantly) who you staying love with.

Our society places a lot of emphasis on feelings. We are taught that we should always follow our feelings and do whatever makes us happy. But feelings are very fickle and fleeting. Real love, on the other hand, is like the North Star in the storms of life; it is constant, sure, and true. Whenever we’re lost and confused we can find strength in the love that we have chosen.

Besides, life already offers us plenty of spontaneity: rejection, job loss, heartache, disappointment, despair, illness, and a host of other problems. We simply can’t abandon ship every time we encounter a storm in our marriage. Real love is about weathering the storms of life together.

In speaking about my grandma, Grandpa once told my mom, “It hurts me to see her like this. You know, when I got married I thought that everything would be smooth sailing. I never imagined that I would have to help her change her catheter every day. But I do it and I don’t mind it—because I love her.” When my grandma was in her fifties, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a degenerative disease that disrupts the body’s ability to communicate with its nervous system. Within a few short years, Grandma had lost the ability to walk and was confined to a wheelchair. Grandpa, who was then the chief of police, retired two years earlier than planned in order to take care of Grandma. He helped her do everything—from getting around the house and visiting the doctor, to helping her take her medicine and bathe.

Love is so much more than some random, euphoric feeling. And real love isn’t always fluffy, cute, and cuddly.

More often than not, real love has its sleeves rolled up, dirt and grime smeared on its arms, and sweat dripping down its forehead.

Real love asks us to do hard things—to forgive one another, to support each other’s dreams, to comfort in times of grief, or to care for family.

Real love isn’t easy—and it’s nothing like the wedding day—but it’s far more meaningful and wonderful.

I recently came across this wonderful quote:
“No one falls in love by choice, it is by chance. No one stays in love by chance, it is by work. And no one falls out of love by chance, it is by choice.”

Whenever my wife and I run into a problem in our marriage we do our best to choose love. While we’re certainly not perfect, the love we share today is more real and more wonderful than anything we had ever anticipated.

So, whatever spontaneous storm may come our way I plan on loving my wife.
If you truly love someone (and they truly love you), commit to that love and plan on it being hard work.

But also plan on it being the most rewarding work of your life.

Drunk in Lust: Why Waiting to Have Sex With Someone is Worth it

Drunk in Lust: Why Waiting to Have Sex With Someone is Worth it

Waiting to have sex with your significant other may be hard, but it’s worth it. Here’s why:

Amazing sex requires a certain level of trust.
And, as I’m sure you know, trust takes time to develop. Only the naive trust strangers — and you never want to marry someone who’s so naive.

Naive people in love fail to see reality. They stick to a fairytale understanding they’ve created for themselves. The relationship will inevitably fail.

Great sex is possible only when both people in the relationship feel comfortable enough to trust the other completely... pledging and giving themselves to each other till death do them part.

The only way to get to this level of comfort is to build up trust. And that, my friends, takes time. There are no shortcuts.

Curiosity builds excitement.

And curiosity is sparked by complex and genuine interest.
How curious are you when you meet an attractive person? Very curious. How do you feel when you realize that the more you get to know the person, the more curious about him or her you become?

That’s what falling in love is.
The more you get to know someone, the more you want to learn. While sexual intimacy is important, the focus must remain on the intimacy you’re building in conversation.

You need to get the other person excited. And you don’t do this through touch. Instead, prove that you’re unlike anyone this person has ever met before. He or she will want to get to know you on a psychological level.

The more complex this person’s desire becomes, the more excited you’ll both grow. And that’s when sex becomes incredible. If you rush to sex and skip this “foreplay,” the sex won’t reach its potential... Marriage!

Mind-blowing sex requires mutual respect.
One of the main problems with rushing into sex is that it gives the idea that the relationship exists just for sex.

Could you ever truly respect someone who you believed was using you? No, you couldn’t. I hope not.

You both need to feel you’re treated well. You need to make sure you're together forever. The only way to do that is to take the time to get to know each other.

The thought that you might be using the other person for sex is very damaging.
You begin to look at each other differently, think about each other differently and approach the relationship differently.

Having sex too soon could kill the relationship before it even starts.

You want to find love in order to make love.
It’s not all about the sex.
Moving too fast could ruin a potentially beautiful thing. This is almost always the case. While hot, sweaty, dirty sex may seem a whole lot of fun, you eventually want to make love.

This isn’t to say that you want the first time you sleep together to be love-making — that’s waiting too long — but you want to make sure you both have an idea it could happen in the future.

Having sex too soon is the fastest way to kill the potential you have to truly make love... in marriage. It kills the mystery. It makes you question the other’s intent. It makes your first time a little awkward and less than ideal.

To be completely honest, you should have the willpower to keep it in your pants.
Keep it in there until both of you make the the lasting commitment before God legally, and I can guarantee that your chances at love will increase tenfold.

AMAZING LOVE STORY!

 AMAZING LOVE STORY!

On August 13th, 2014, a woman’s profile popped up on my Facebook account’s sidebar (in the ‘People You May Know’ section) that would change my life forever. There is no accurate way to put this into words… but I have never felt more deeply compelled by someone in my entire life. Every cell in my body was a flashing red arrow pointing in the direction of that little digital icon. My gut screamed at me, “Click it! That one! This is non-negotiable.”
So I clicked it.
I was absolutely floored by this woman. She was 100% my type (and then some), she was passionate, driven, intelligent, kind, and everything else I could ever dream up in an ideal partner.

After cyber-stalking every line of text between her Facebook page, tumblr, and twitter account, I knew three things as absolute fact…
1. This was the most amazing woman I had ever come across – online or offline. She was as soulful, loving, intentional, and independent as she was beautiful.

2. This was a real person. Not just a fake profile of a cute girl set up in order to drive traffic to something spammy.

3. I could easily fall in love with her, given the chance.

I sent her a friend request, she accepted, and then I sat with my feelings for a week.
At the end of the week, I knew that I had to let her know how I felt in the most honest way possible. I had no other experience in my entire life of feeling that compelled towards talking to someone… it was a once in a lifetime bundle of feelings.

So, on August 20th, 2014, a week after I had added her, I sent her the following message via Facebook…

"Here’s something random… I don’t know you, nor do you know me. I saw you pop up in my “People you may know” sidebar a few weeks back and I was absolutely stunned. To be honest, I thought yours was a fake profile because you were so gorgeous. I lost about ten minutes of work time because my brain had to reboot after seeing your profile picture. But that’s besides the point of this message… I’ve since stalked you (in a readily- available Facebook kind of way… not a telescope kind of way) and found out that you’re super driven, hard working, and passionate about many things. Congrats on the graduation and top honours."

"The real reason I wanted to send this is that you, in a roundabout way, have given me faith that there are quality women who are beautiful, driven, and humble… all at the same time. I don’t expect anything in return from you from this message. I just wanted you to know that I see what you’re putting out into the world, and I applaud it. I’m very impressed by you. Have a great weekend."

That was it.
I told her what was true (I added her, looked into her, and was impressed by her),
what I noticed (she’s driven, humble, and beautiful),
and what I expected to come from me messaging her (she would know that she affected my life in a positive way).

In short, I gratitude-bombed her with no expectations of a relationship.
And this wasn’t some sneaky, manipulative trick that would then have her doing back-flips for my attention in order to get more praise. In fact, she didn’t write me back for nearly an entire month. Which was completely fine on my end because I truly wasn’t expecting any result from the message. I simply wanted her to know that I was deeply impressed by her and that I was just glad that she existed in the world.

When she wrote back three weeks later, she thanked me for writing to her. She then told me that my message had left her speechless. And she told me she thought I was courageous for being so honest with someone I’d never met. At this point in time I was living across the country from her (a five hour flight away from each other) and, knowing that I wouldn’t be back in her city for another month at the earliest, I asked her for her phone number.

September 20th, 2014
"The next time I’m in Vancouver, I’ll do whatever it takes to take you out on a date. I haven’t been as compelled towards someone as I am to you in quite a while. On second thought, five weeks simply seems like too long to wait. For how relatively little I know about you, the thought of you lights me up inside. I think that that is something worth exploring sooner than later. I’d love to call you some night soon and have a chat. If you are up for that send me over your number and I will give you a shout when it works for you."

She gave me her phone number.
I called when I said I would.
We talked for two hours, effortlessly. We talked about everything. I loved her voice. She laughed a lot. I loved that too. Within few months, I was back in her city and we were officially a couple.

“Will you be my wife?”
“Yes.”
“You didn’t hesitate at all!”
“You’re right. I didn’t need to.”

Ultimately, I met the woman of my dreams using Facebook (the last place I ever expected to find her). So what did I learn from this experience?

*Being direct works. If you’re an honest, loving person who simply wants to spread more love into the world, your potential significant other will pick up on that vibe. And you don’t have to worry about playing games or being tastefully ambiguous. If you want to be direct and that’s congruent with who you are, then be direct.

You need to put in real effort. If you’re going to message someone in order to ask them out…

1) make sure you actually care about who you’re messaging, and
2) put in the time and effort to come up with something more personalized than “heyyy, you’re cute. whatsup?”

Embrace the vulnerability of showing interest. Telling someone you care feels vulnerable. Putting your neck on the line and saying, in any number of words, “Yes, I like you” is a scary concept. But, at least in my eyes, living a life full of “What if’s” is even scarier. If you want to message them, do it. If you want their phone number, ask. If you want them to be your significant other, make it known.

The world belongs to the brave.
So be direct,
spread love everywhere, and
have the courage to ask for what you want.
